Heartburn is a burning feeling or pain in the center of the chest that may extend into your back or neck during or after eating.
Lemon juice is one of the best remedies for heartburn. Mix the juice of ½ of a squeezed lemon in 8 ounces of water and sip slowly upon awakening each morning.
Lemon juice helps the stomach stop making digestive acids, therefore alleviating heartburn or other stomach ailments.
Lemon has always been known to be a great detoxifying agent, and the same applies for lemon oil as far as getting rid of heartburn is concerned.
Lemon oil is alkaline in nature. Therefore, it acts as a neutralising agent against the acid. It also has antibacterial properties. Consequently, it can cleanse the digestive system of harmful bacteria. Since the stomach is purified, it can produce fresh acid for optimal digestion of the next meal.
To use lemon essential oil for heartburn relief, add a drop or two of the oil into a glass of water, preferably warm water. After you do this, sip on it for at least 20 to 30 minutes prior to eating. This will prepare the body to digest whatever meal you’re going to eat.
